PFAROS is officially underway!

More than 89 partners from across Europe and beyond came together for the Kick-Off Meeting of PFAROS IHI project – Driving Sustainable Innovation to Minimise PFAS in European Healthcare.

Over two inspiring days, representatives from academia, industry, healthcare, regulatory bodies, research organisations, and civil society met to align on a shared ambition: tackling PFAS-related challenges in healthcare through collaboration, innovation, and science-based solutions.

PFAROS is more than a research project. It is a unique public-private partnership bringing together expertise from across the healthcare ecosystem to:

🔹 Better understand PFAS use and emissions in healthcare

🔹 Explore and assess safe and sustainable alternatives

🔹 Develop evidence-based tools and frameworks to support decision-making

🔹 Contribute to a more sustainable and resilient healthcare sector

The enthusiasm, expertise, and commitment demonstrated during the Kick-Off Meeting highlighted the strength of this consortium and the importance of working together to address complex challenges that no single organisation can solve alone.
